While investigating the activities of the SS Paranormal Division in Germany, BJ Blazkowicz and Agent One are captured by the Nazis. An agent dies during interrogation, but BJ manages to escape Castle Wolfenstein's dungeon. Then fight your way out of the castle, with a tram to leave the area and meet with a member of the German resistance in a nearby village. The SS Paranormal Division, under Oberführer Helga von Bulow, has been excavating the catacombs and crypts of an ancient church in the village. Division neglected precautions have led to the awakening of hordes of undead, including Saxon knights, and the entrance must be closed, leaving many soldiers trapped inside the catacombs. BJ descends regardless and fights both Nazis and undead until you get to the old house of worship, desecrated church, where Nazi scientist Professor Zemph is conducting a 'life essence extraction' on the corpse of a knight of the night. Shortly before BJ's arrival, Zemph tries to talk the impatient Helga von Bulow of Thulian retrieve an artifact, the "Dagger of the guard", but she shoots and profits. This awakens a monster, OlaRic, that also kills. Blazkowicz defeats OlaRic, then carried out with notes Zemph and dagger.
